WPL
*WHAT IS WOMEN PREMIER LEAGUE ?
The Women's Premier League (WPL) is a domestic cricket competition for women in India. It is organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and features several teams from different regions of the country. The tournament usually takes place annually, although the scheduling and format may vary depending on the year.
In the WPL, each team plays a round-robin format against every other team in the competition, with each match consisting of 20 overs per side. The team that wins a match is awarded two points, while a tie or no result will earn each team one point. If a match is abandoned without a ball being bowled, then each team is awarded one point.
At the end of the round-robin stage, the team with the most points on the point table will qualify for the final. If two or more teams finish with the same number of points, then the team with the better net run rate will advance to the final. The net run rate is calculated by subtracting the average runs per over scored by the team from the average runs per over conceded by the team.
Once the final is played, the team that wins the match will be declared the champion of the Women's Premier League.
BENEFITS OF WPL ?
The tournament is considered a prestigious event for women's cricket in India and is an opportunity for players to showcase their talent and potential for selection in the national team.
